Stone Theft from the Alma

Stone Theft from the Alma

Unfortunately, a significant theft of stone from the walls within the Alma area of land off Sheffield Road, has left the dry-stone walls severely damaged. The theft of the historic stone has had a grave impact on the character of the area and is on the rise across the country, costing thousands of pounds for Councils and ultimately taxpayers to repair.

CCTV has recently been installed within the area; however, the Council is asking residents to be vigilant and if you witness any theft of stone from this area, please call the Police immediately to report the incident.
