Tree Management

The Town Council undertake regular surveys and maintenance on many trees located around the Town, which are on land belonging to the Town Council. Some of these areas, such as Lea Brook Valley are also covered as a conservation area and many trees are also protected by Tree Protection Orders (TPO). TPOs can protect four main categories:

  • individual specimens
  • group
  • woodland
  • area

It is illegal to cut down, top, lop, uproot, damage or destroy a tree protected by a TPO, within a conservation area or on land owned and managed by the Town Council. Permission must always be requested directly from the Town Council by emailing townclerk@dronfield,gov.uk before any work is undertaken on a tree on land owned by the Town Council.
