Lea Road Wooden Ramp Statement

Lea Road Wooden Ramp Statement

Dronfield Town Council is aware of various comments on social media and a petition which has been created calling on the Town Council to preserve and prevent the demolition of the wooden ramp from Lea Road. The Town Council is not the local authority responsible for the wooden ramp, the council responsible for it is Derbyshire County Council.

The Town Council have in the past raised numerous concerns regarding the closure of the ramp and pupil safety with regards to school children now using the station bridge as a crossing instead. The Town Council have attempted to engage with both the County Council and Network Rail to resolve the matter.

A meeting organised by Derbyshire County Council is taking place later this week regarding the future of the wooden ramp, which representatives from the Town Council will be attending.

Any feedback regarding the demolition of the wooden ramp can be directed to Derbyshire County Council by emailing contact.centre@derbyshire.gov.uk.
