HS2 Consultation Event - Civic Hall, 7th November
In July 2018 the Secretary of State announced the electrification of a 25km section of the Midland Mainline, from Clay Cross to Sheffield Midland station, to be included in Phase 2b of HS2.

Deadline approaching for Thomas Taylor Charity

New Councillor Co-opted for Coal Aston West Ward
At last night's Town Council Meeting, Monday 1st October, Cllr Keith Burkitt was co-opted to represent the Coal Aston West Ward.
Cllr Burkitt replaces Cllr Eric Pasley following his recent resignation.

Derbyshire community groups urged to apply for an Action Grant as deadline approaches
Derbyshire County Council launched their £1.5m Action Grants scheme in May and the deadline for the next round of applications is this Sunday (September 30th 2018).
In just 4 months they have awarded Action Grants totaling more than £210,000 to 113 community groups, clubs, charities and other non-profit organisations across Derbyshire.

Time to apply for secondary school places
Parents of year 6 pupils living in Dronfield can now apply to Derbyshire County Council for their child's secondary school place for September 2019.
Applying online is the easiest method and can be done in the school admissions section of the Derbyshire County Council website.
The deadline to submit applications is at midnight on Wednesday 31 October 2018.

2019 Dronfield Gala

Dronfield Town Mayor’s 2017-18 Charity Funds Distributed
On Tuesday 29th August a number of local organisations and charities gathered in the Civic Hall for the presentation of the Dronfield Town Mayor's Charity Funds from 2017-18.
